Roo
All Dogs/OVBCC September Trial
Tuesday September 22, 2009
The girls went to play agility on September 12 & 13 at All Dogs Sports Club. They all had a great weekend. I took home 12 Q ribbons between the 3 of them! Roo had the best haul earning 7 Q’s, Fixx 4, and Razzle 1.
This was Razzle’s agility Trial debut and she looked great! I entered her in just 3 events (2 jumpers and 1 standard) to test the waters as they say
I was very impressed by the little monkey and she had an absolute ball. So we’re signed up for a few more fall trials now and will see what she can do!

Carp Co-host September Flyball Tournament
Tuesday September 22, 2009
Holly cow! What a great tournament weekend. The weather was perfect, it was my birthday and my dogs all performed really well. Ruckus is getting back in shape posting much improved times now that he is on medication for his addison’s disease. Roo ran super well for Cheryl and Jake as always for Viv.
My biggest delight was running Trek for the first time. His first 2 heats he posted 4.0’s and then started throwing in some 3.9’s over the weekend! Wow...my best debuting dog ever, and he loves it, including the cool off pool!

USDDN Disc Qualifier
Monday August 24, 2009
This past weekend the Disc Doggers of the family got to compete in the USDDN qualifier held at K9 Sense in Ottawa.
Jake ran on Saturday for two different handlers in the Novice Division. MacKenzie (Jake’s very junior handler) practiced her throwing arm with Mr. Jake. Viv did too and was pretty successful, narrowly missing a 3rd place medal with Jake.
I threw for Fixx, Jake & Roo in the advanced “Pro” class on Sunday and Fixx finished second taking home a nice silver medal.
Proceeds from this trial hosted by ADDCO went to Hopeful Hearts Rescue

AAC Nationals in Ottawa
Friday August 21, 2009
Woo hoo...Roo and Fixx played, and played well at the largest AAC Nationals to date held in Ottawa July 31, August 1 & August 2nd.
Fixx made the Steeplechase final. She was in 10th place and didn’t have the best steeplechase run, but made her way up to 8th place in the final. We finally made a little cash, got a souvenir t-shirt and some great bonus shots from TTL photography. I’ll replace the photo below of Fixx when I get my TTL order! Fixx also had some great runs finishing 11th in Standard 1 and 11th in Jumpers 2. There were well over 100 dogs in her class. I believe Fixx ended Nationals in 24th place.
Roo ran well too. Some silly faults in the standard runs prevented up from being clean. She had a great Jumpers 1 run and finished in 10th place...earning herself a ribbon. Jumpers 2, I could have killed her. She locked in to an off course tunnel, and that was the end of that great run. This time it was not my fault. I have onlookers who will back me up
Both girls missed the 1st Gamble, but got Gamble No. 2.

Canada Cup July 18th & 19th
Friday August 21, 2009
The whole gang attended Canada Cup this year. John and I packed up the trailer and headed off to a fun weekend of agility and swimming with the dogs and hanging out with friends.
Roo and Fixx played agility and ended up not in the money, but with some great successes.
Roo finished 4th in the snooker challenge, getting all 4 sevens, but perhaps not in the most efficient manner planned by moi. Roo also made the Canada Cup final with a clean first round and a 5 fault second round. She ended up in 17th place after a fall on course by moi again and a few other silly mishaps.
Fixx placed 2nd in the first round of the jumpers challenge and then finished in 7th place in the jumpers final. She ran clean, with a small hicup resulting from some poor handling once again.

Ontario Regionals
Tuesday June 02, 2009
Roo and Fixx entered Ontario Regionals in Ottawa and both ended up having very good weekends. I’m especially proud of Fixx who just turned 3 in April finishing in 15th place out of 100 dogs in the 22” regular division. Roo finished in 19th in the same division. From my standpoint a very successful weekend!
Fixx ran so well getting both Gambles and sticking all her contacts the entire weekend. A huge improvement over last year. I look forward to getting to know her better and trusting her more in the agility ring and hope to continue to improve with her.

May Long Weekend Flyball at Trenton
Tuesday June 02, 2009
Roo, Jake, Razzle and Trek had a fun filled weekend in Trenton on the May long weekend! Trek came along not to play yet, but to absorb the atmosphere. He was great and loves everything and everyone. He managed to get a swim in too with a bunch of his team mates.
The racing was good and our teams finished well. Our “Open” team with our ringer height dog “Toby” won the open 2 division. Our regular team placed second just behind our good friends “Slipstream”.
This was Razzle’s first full tournament and she ran her little heart out. It was a two ring tournament and very exciting to her. She had only one meltdown when we switched rings and lanes on Saturday, but recovered well. On Sunday she is fine form clocking several 4.2’s in start and a 4.1 in the very last race over the day. Quite good for the little girl running 10 inch jumps for the first time.

Dream Fields March 22nd Trial
Wednesday March 25, 2009
Another trial with improved contacts! Roo now has a very nice frame contact and just needs a little polishing on the dog walk. Roo earned another Standard leg and is two away from Silver. I added some more Standard runs to our May Morningstar trial in hopes of getting one of their nice big Silver ribbons!
Fixx again had some nice Standard runs and is handling very well, but still needs contact reminders. She did earn her 4th Master Jumpers leg though and the title of MJDC (Master Jumpers Dog of Canada).

Montreal Dogzwoth Flyball
Tuesday March 17, 2009
On Sunday March 15th, I packed up most of the gang including John and headed to Montreal for a 1 day flyball tournament. FBI ran an open team in which Roo had a full time spot and Razzle had a warmup spot.
Our team ran undefeated all day and we placed 1st in the open division. Razzle had her little chance to shine in the very last race of the day. Being the confident little girl she is, I just kind of plunked her in start with one recall and one warmup run for the day and let her race! She did very well apart from chasing balls in the end zone. She ran 4 heats and clocked a 4.3. I expect she will only get faster as she gets some more time in the lanes which will be at u-fli in April.
Trek experienced his very first flyball tournament from the sidelines as was as good as gold winning over a few more fans!

Morning Star Agility Trial - Friday the 13th
Tuesday March 17, 2009
So it was Friday the 13th, but I had a great day at the Morningstar Agility Trial in the Kingston Soccer dome.
Roo managed 4 out of 5 Q’s with two being standard legs and now we are 3 away from Silver! Fixx ran really well getting a Master Snookers leg with a best run and a master jumpers leg no. 3 with a best run. Fixx and Roo finally both ran clean in that jumpers run and Fixx did edge out Roo by almost a full second!
Both girls had much better contacts this trial with a little help from some training in the ring, but I am happy with the progress.
Trek came along for the experience and was loved by everyone and handled everything in stride!

Chomody Agility Trial
Sunday February 22, 2009
Fixx and Roo both competed in the 22” Regular Master Classes on February 20 & 21st in Montreal. I was really looking forward to running both in the same class to hopefully see who is the faster dog. They both handle a little differently. Roo is very smooth and flowing and Fixx is more slot car like and very responsive. I came close to having nice clean runs with both in the Master Jumpers, but Roo missed a hard cut that many of the dogs before me also missed....I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see the problem area! I changed my plan with Fixx and ran it clean winning the 22 inch division with her. Fixx and Roo also earned a Steeplechase leg. They both missed one a-frame contact and Fixx came ahead there winning that class. Roo also earned a Standard leg...now 5 away from her silver. I spent the rest of my runs trying to fix bad contacts in the ring on both dogs! Good grief...let’s hope this is a winter thing!
Flyball Montreal Feb. 15th
Tuesday February 17, 2009
Jake and Roo ran on FBI’s regular team and placed 3rd. Roo hasn’t been running much flyball lately as she has been focusing on agility, but she ran really well. I enjoyed running her again. Jake was handled in the start position by my good friend Pat.

Roo
Ruckus was the height dog for our Open team which placed 2nd. He had a few little brain melt downs, but ran well for the rest. He wasn’t as exhausted as he was at the November tournament so hopefully his fitness level is improving.
Sledding Fun
Thursday January 15, 2009
Last Sunday there was finally enough snow to try my new sled. Jake and Roo are old pros and I tried hooking up Razzle for the first time. She started off well, but then slipped her collar twice. Back in the house to tighten things up and out for a second try with just Jake. She did very well the second time and think she will catch on quickly to this new sport. Fixx had her first try in December and seems to be a natural. I look forward to getting one out again this weekend on our farm trails.
Morningstar January 2nd Agility Trial
Saturday January 03, 2009
Roo and Fixx had a good start to 2009.
Fixx back from an injury in the summer finished off her Advanced Agility Dog of Canada Title and can now run full time in Master’s with her sister Roo. Fixx also earned 2 Steeplechase legs...beating Roo in both runs. The Steeplechase were fast and fun and I really enjoyed running Fixx again.
Roo earned another Master Standard leg and 2 Steeplechase legs. We are busy chasing down our AAC Silver Award of Merit and think we now have only 6 standard legs to go!
