Flyball

Flyball in January

Jake, Razzle Trek and I travelled to Montreal for a 1 Day Flyball tournament hosted by Dogzworth on January 17th. Razzle and Trek shared a spot again and Jake share with his friend Holly on FBI’s second team. It was a great day and everyone had fun. Razzle ran her little heart out again. You can catch some footage of her running on the following video.

Flyball in Montreal

On Sunday November 22nd, Razzle, Trek, Jake and I attended our last tournament for the year.

Razzle and Trek had their own spots making it there first full time tournament. Trek rand second on our open team passing into his brother Jake and he did fantastic. Our open team placed 1st.

Razzle ran on our regular team in Start and ran several 4.0’s.

Jake was handled by Vivienne and had a blast.

Here’s some video footage of Razzle from the day and Razzle and Trek had their photo taken Happy

Batavia Flyball October 17/18

What a great weekend I had with my Team mates in Batavia NY. There was lots of shopping, haircutting and eating in addition to great flyball.

Our FBI team of Razzle/Trek, Drake, Holly/Ben & Ruckus placed first in Regular 2.

Razzle & Trek continue to improve every tournament. Razzle is now running many 4.0’s and Trek is now running many 3.9’s with his best being a very low 3.92! I really think Trek may have a 3.8 in his future.

Ruckus was our height dog and ran all 10 races handled by “New York” Kathy. He did a fine job the entire weekend and his speed is approaching his old times pre addisions.

Carp Co-host September Flyball Tournament

Holly cow! What a great tournament weekend. The weather was perfect, it was my birthday and my dogs all performed really well. Ruckus is getting back in shape posting much improved times now that he is on medication for his addison’s disease. Roo ran super well for Cheryl and Jake as always for Viv.

My biggest delight was running Trek for the first time. His first 2 heats he posted 4.0’s and then started throwing in some 3.9’s over the weekend! Wow...my best debuting dog ever, and he loves it, including the cool off pool!

Carp Flyball August 8th & 9th

Had a great time playing flyball after the stressful National agility weekend.

Razzle posted her first 4.0! Hopefully we will see more of those as she races more. She was running very consistent 4.1’s on Saturday and I knew she’d have a 4.0 in her Sunday morning. Fixx shared with Razzle and ran very well too.

Jake ran for my friend Vivienne. He loved it as always and was a great dog for a new handler.

Ruckus made is debut again after is spring addisons crisis, and shaved almost a full second off his previous times.

Trek did his first warmup on Saturday and looked good!

Our open team finished in 2nd place and our regular 1 team in 3rd place.

UFli Flyball Tournament July 4th & 5th

Flyball Insanity hosted their very first U-fli tournament in Navan in July. I am Captain of this team so we were busy being hosts and also running our dogs. We entered two teams and Jake’s team finished in First place in Division one with a new team best time of 17.581. Our second team, where Razzle and Fixx shared a spot also finished in 1st place.

Razzle ran in single dog racing trying to better her time from the spring and did this that. She posted a 4.1

May Long Weekend Flyball at Trenton

Roo, Jake, Razzle and Trek had a fun filled weekend in Trenton on the May long weekend! Trek came along not to play yet, but to absorb the atmosphere. He was great and loves everything and everyone. He managed to get a swim in too with a bunch of his team mates.

The racing was good and our teams finished well. Our “Open” team with our ringer height dog “Toby” won the open 2 division. Our regular team placed second just behind our good friends “Slipstream”.

This was Razzle’s first full tournament and she ran her little heart out. It was a two ring tournament and very exciting to her. She had only one meltdown when we switched rings and lanes on Saturday, but recovered well. On Sunday she is fine form clocking several 4.2’s in start and a 4.1 in the very last race over the day. Quite good for the little girl running 10 inch jumps for the first time.

April U-fli in Carp

Jake, Fixx, Razzle and Roo all had a fantastic time at the u-fli tournament in Carp hosted by Paws On Fire last weekend.

Razzle ran some great singles times and also ran in the team lineup a few times. The little monkey is looking pretty good. Roo backed up dogs and Fixx ran in her first tournament since her injury last July. Jake had fun as always.

With 10 races per team along with singles and pairs, I had quite the tired pups by Sunday night. Me too...I actually went to bed at 8pm!

Montreal Dogzwoth Flyball

On Sunday March 15th, I packed up most of the gang including John and headed to Montreal for a 1 day flyball tournament. FBI ran an open team in which Roo had a full time spot and Razzle had a warmup spot.

Our team ran undefeated all day and we placed 1st in the open division. Razzle had her little chance to shine in the very last race of the day. Being the confident little girl she is, I just kind of plunked her in start with one recall and one warmup run for the day and let her race! She did very well apart from chasing balls in the end zone. She ran 4 heats and clocked a 4.3. I expect she will only get faster as she gets some more time in the lanes which will be at u-fli in April.

Trek experienced his very first flyball tournament from the sidelines as was as good as gold winning over a few more fans!

OVBCC Flyball Seminar

Mr. Trek had a very busy weekend. On Saturday he had a working spot in a Novice Flyball seminar presented by Pam Cassleman for the Ottawa Valley Border Collie Club.

He seems to be a natural and look forward to applying all the great training tips over the next few weeks!

Flyball Montreal Feb. 15th

Jake and Roo ran on FBI’s regular team and placed 3rd. Roo hasn’t been running much flyball lately as she has been focusing on agility, but she ran really well. I enjoyed running her again. Jake was handled in the start position by my good friend Pat.

Ruckus was the height dog for our Open team which placed 2nd. He had a few little brain melt downs, but ran well for the rest. He wasn’t as exhausted as he was at the November tournament so hopefully his fitness level is improving.
