USDDN Disc Qualifier
This past weekend the Disc Doggers of the family got to compete in the USDDN qualifier held at K9 Sense in Ottawa.
Jake ran on Saturday for two different handlers in the Novice Division. MacKenzie (Jake’s very junior handler) practiced her throwing arm with Mr. Jake. Viv did too and was pretty successful, narrowly missing a 3rd place medal with Jake.
I threw for Fixx, Jake & Roo in the advanced “Pro” class on Sunday and Fixx finished second taking home a nice silver medal.
Proceeds from this trial hosted by ADDCO went to Hopeful Hearts Rescue

Dock Diving Kingston Sheep Dog Trial
Friday August 21, 2009 Filed in: Trek | Dock Diving
On August 9th, since I was busy playing flyball in Carp, John headed off to Kingston for some dock diving.
They had a great time and Trek is improving. His best jump was over 16 feet. The black & white guy sure loves the water!

Carp Flyball August 8th & 9th
Had a great time playing flyball after the stressful National agility weekend.
Razzle posted her first 4.0! Hopefully we will see more of those as she races more. She was running very consistent 4.1’s on Saturday and I knew she’d have a 4.0 in her Sunday morning. Fixx shared with Razzle and ran very well too.
Jake ran for my friend Vivienne. He loved it as always and was a great dog for a new handler.
Ruckus made is debut again after is spring addisons crisis, and shaved almost a full second off his previous times.
Trek did his first warmup on Saturday and looked good!
Our open team finished in 2nd place and our regular 1 team in 3rd place.

AAC Nationals in Ottawa
Woo hoo...Roo and Fixx played, and played well at the largest AAC Nationals to date held in Ottawa July 31, August 1 & August 2nd.
Fixx made the Steeplechase final. She was in 10th place and didn’t have the best steeplechase run, but made her way up to 8th place in the final. We finally made a little cash, got a souvenir t-shirt and some great bonus shots from TTL photography. I’ll replace the photo below of Fixx when I get my TTL order! Fixx also had some great runs finishing 11th in Standard 1 and 11th in Jumpers 2. There were well over 100 dogs in her class. I believe Fixx ended Nationals in 24th place.
Roo ran well too. Some silly faults in the standard runs prevented up from being clean. She had a great Jumpers 1 run and finished in 10th place...earning herself a ribbon. Jumpers 2, I could have killed her. She locked in to an off course tunnel, and that was the end of that great run. This time it was not my fault. I have onlookers who will back me up
Both girls missed the 1st Gamble, but got Gamble No. 2.

Canada Cup July 18th & 19th
The whole gang attended Canada Cup this year. John and I packed up the trailer and headed off to a fun weekend of agility and swimming with the dogs and hanging out with friends.
Roo and Fixx played agility and ended up not in the money, but with some great successes.
Roo finished 4th in the snooker challenge, getting all 4 sevens, but perhaps not in the most efficient manner planned by moi. Roo also made the Canada Cup final with a clean first round and a 5 fault second round. She ended up in 17th place after a fall on course by moi again and a few other silly mishaps.
Fixx placed 2nd in the first round of the jumpers challenge and then finished in 7th place in the jumpers final. She ran clean, with a small hicup resulting from some poor handling once again.

UFli Flyball Tournament July 4th & 5th
Flyball Insanity hosted their very first U-fli tournament in Navan in July. I am Captain of this team so we were busy being hosts and also running our dogs. We entered two teams and Jake’s team finished in First place in Division one with a new team best time of 17.581. Our second team, where Razzle and Fixx shared a spot also finished in 1st place.
Razzle ran in single dog racing trying to better her time from the spring and did this that. She posted a 4.1
